The book Render first began as a tattered old notebook, with no intention of ever becoming an actual book.

Over the course of two years, I experienced some extreme highs and lows. As a way of processing these experiences, I began writing poem-like reflections, therapy I didn’t know I needed. I looked at the bubbling, overwhelming chaos of my internal world long enough to attempt to make sense of it, or at least some of it. It produced a collection of words, strung together, to articulate the vast breadth and depth of my complexity.

The moments I navigated during those two years are not unique. I am no more special or important than the next, but as people around me read the words in my notebook, I noticed that they connected with them as well.

So I pulled together my work and created this little book. My prayer is that the words contained within irritate your heart.
