Honey
$140.00

There is an ancient story of redemption and freedom that in many ways is still playing out today. A whole nation was enslaved for over 400 years but were brought out of their captivity and promised, amongst other things, milk and honey. But not just milk and honey, a land flowing with it.

Though it might not make sense or be as significant to us, to the enslaved people this promise would indicate a few things. If a land was ‘flowing’ with milk, it would mean the land would be vast enough to run a huge amount of livestock. Meaning, there was a lot of space, plenty of quality feed and longevity for this livestock to breed and multiply. It would mean food, work and a sense of having more than enough for the people. If the land was ‘flowing’ with honey, it would mean bees, right? Bees require vegetation, flowers and most importantly pollen to create honey. Which means, the soil is good for growing food, the land easily regenerates, it gets enough sun and rain - basically the land has everything it needs to survive and survive abundantly.

I know the feelings of being trapped or stuck are relatable to a lot of people, as well as wanting and receiving a sense of freedom and redemption. The honey ring is a silver ode to that promise. A life of freedom and good things.
